Dog Show

This weekend the Arkansas AKC Annual Dog show was held in Little Rock. So, for 2 bucks each, we spent the morning there. Some of the winners here will go on to the Westminster Show later this year. Neither one of us had ever been to a dog show before so it was quite interesting although we felt disloyal to Morris the whole time we were there........ Above is a bulldog.

This is a Mastiff what was waiting to go into the ring. She was HUGH and as docile as a teddy bear.

We thought the Mastiff was big and then we saw the Irish Wolfhound which was even taller. We talked to a lady who was showing one and found that that their hair is very wiry (it felt strange when we touched it), their ears lay back so when running through brush, they wouldn't get hung up on the branches, their eyesight is their strongest sense, they are very gentle, they only live about 8 years and the minimum height is about 31-34" at the shoulder.

"Am I pretty yet?"
It was a fun, different thing to do.
