Good ole Midwest Thunderstorm - Finally!

Morris sharing his chair with Larry so they can watch TV..... Anyway, we finally got our thunderstorm last night. I remember as a kid, setting on the front porch swing in the summer and you could see the storm building and coming several house before it ever reached us. That's what happened last night, we could see it in the distance and the lightening kept getting closer and closer. It wasn't the vertical kind but the kind that lit up the whole sky. About 9 p.m. it hit! The sky was constantly lit up with lightening, it was pouring rain and the wind was blowing the rain every which way. For the first time, with the wind blowing the rain against the window wall, we could hear the rain. I was suprised that we couldn't hear much thunder, just a low rumble once in a while. We turned the lights out and just watched the show that mother nature provided. Now Morris on the other hand, was hunkered down in a corner, facing away from the window, just wanting it to go away. He didn't even want to be held. He did not understand out fascination with it at all. The storm lasted about an hour but it took him much longer than that to recover.
